Drama Cotton Linen Towels

The Drama is the graphic one in the range: a cream cotton–linen ground ruled with fine pinstripes, then interrupted by a single wide black band running the length of the towel. It is the detail that makes it read as designed rather than plain, and the reason it works as easily folded on a shelf as it does spread on the sand.

Why a peshtemal instead of a terry towel

• Dries far faster. A flat weave holds much less water than looped terry, so it is dry again between uses instead of sitting damp on the rail.
• Folds to almost nothing. Roughly a quarter the bulk of a terry bath sheet — it fits a carry-on or a beach bag without taking the whole compartment.
• Sand brushes straight off. There is no pile for grit to work its way into.
• Improves with washing. The linen content softens as it breaks in and the weave opens up to absorb more.

More than a bath towel

At 37'' x 73'' it is a full bath sheet for one adult, long enough to cover a sun lounger, and wide enough to work as a beach blanket, picnic throw or sofa cover. The black band gives it enough presence to be used as a table runner or throw at home.

Care

Wash before first use to set the weave. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no bleach and no fabric softener — softener coats cotton and linen and works against the absorbency you bought it for. Shake the fringe while damp so it dries straight.
